Title:The current status and use of micro milling in production
Abstract:An introductory part of the thesis begins with a representation of milling as a starting procedure, which is of great importance for a further research and a description of a micro-milling technique. First of all, it is important that we understand the procedure itself, how it works, which forces act and how a tool behaves during the procedure. As is suggested in the title Current State of Manufacturing and the Use of Micro-Milling Technique: an Overview, the following part features machines and tools that are most frequently used in the manufacturing. Furthermore, it includes a detailed presentation of certain tools and materials, since it was found that in order for the process of manufacturing to be the most efficient, each type of a work piece requires a different type of tool. The final part of this thesis is devoted to providing a more detailed analysis of the theoretical ground for micro-milling technique. It also highlights special features of manufacturing and provides an insight into areas where the micro-milling is most frequently used and where is the most effective. Interestingly, it has been observed that, despite its unrecognizability, this process is used in many areas where high tolerance and the quality of manufacturing of complicated product shapes are required.
