Abstract:	Diplomsko delo obravnava področje programskih vsiljivcev, natančneje izsiljevalskih virusov, ki predstavljajo vse hujšo grožnjo informacisjkih sistemov. V teoretičnem delu naloge se je s pomočjo izsledkov v strokovni literaturi proučila zgodovina izsiljevalskih virusov in njihove glavne lastnosti. V aplikativnem delu je bila izvedena raziskava, s pomočjo katere se je proučilo, kakšno je trenutno stanje razširjenosti izsiljevalskih virusov v slovneskih poslovnih okoljih. Rezultati raziskave so bili primerjani z analizami, ki so bile opravljene drugod po svetu. Ugotovilo se je, da se stanje na področju prisotnosti in razširjenosti izsiljevalskih virusov v Sloveniji lahko primerja s stanjem na globalni ravni. Oblikovala so se priporočila, ki so lahko v pomoč ali v opozorilo vsem organizacijam, tako tistim, ki z isiljevalskimi virusi nimajo izkušenj, kakor tudi tistim, ki so se s tovrstnimi programskimi vsiljivci že soočile.

Title:	Ransomware as an information security threat in business environment
Abstract:	The thesis deals with malware, specifically ransomware. Ransomware represents a serious threat to the information system. In theoretical part of thesis we focused on history of ransomware and their mean features. In second part of thesis, we made a research, based on studies that were made on a global level. A survey was conducted to examine the situation of presence of ransomware in Slovenian business environment. Our results shows, that Slovenia is on the same level of infection of ransomware than other countries are. According to the research, we created recommendatios that might help the companies that were already infected with ransomware. Recommendations can also be a warning to those companies that did not face ransomware yet.
