Abstract:	Magistrsko delo obravnava motele, kot ključne arhitekturne objekte ob avtocestni infrastrukturi. Obsega opise zgodovinskega razvoja motelov, predstavitev pomembnejših sodobnih referenčnih primerov motelov ter prostorske analize in arhitekturno zasnovo motela v kraju Tepanje, Slovenija. Delo ne sloni le na zasnovi klasičnega motela, ampak na večfunkcionalni stavbi s široko ponudbo, ki lahko spodbudi družbeno-ekonomski razvoj kraja in okolice.

Title:	Architectural design of motel in Tepanje
Abstract:	This master’s thesis is based on the architectural design of a motel in Tepanje, Slovenia. The basis of the intervention is the problem of designing a piece of architecture that has its own story and can be integrated into the environment in a broad sense. To elaborate, the emphasis is not only on the motel, but also on the broad spectre of services, which help the whole building complex to operate smoothly. The location itself posed a problem during the designing phase. The question was, how to find the appropriate equilibrium between the factors that influence the architecture of the complex. The combination between the suburban and rural environment led to the use of traditional materials. This use of materials enables the architecture to blend into the environment. However, in order for this type of building to function normally, it is attractive enough to draw attention to itself.
