Abstract:	Magistrska naloga obravnava razvoj mariborske industrije, s posebnim poudarkom na industrijski coni Tezno, ki je v 20. stoletju veljala za steber mariborskega gospodarstva, Tovarna avtomobilov in motorjev Maribor (TAM) pa za sinonim mesta Maribor. Temu primerno sta predstavljena razcvet in postopen propad TAM-a kot posledica zgrešene gospodarske politike. Nesprejetje ključnih gospodarskih reform v sredini 70. let prejšnjega stoletja, ko je bila v zahodnoevropskih državah gospodarska aktivnost že usmerjena v zagotavljanje in razvoj storitev ter prestrukturiranje klasičnih proizvodnih dejavnosti, je vneslo destabilizacijo še v enopartijski politični prostor in plansko načrtovano gospodarstvo. Tako se je po razpadu Jugoslavije slovensko gospodarstvo moralo nepripravljeno soočiti z novo nastalimi družbeno–gospodarskimi razmerami globalnega tržnega gospodarstva. V nalogi je posebna pozornost namenjena družbenopolitičnim spremembam v času še vedno trajajoče tranzicije, ki zahtevajo prestrukturiranje gospodarstva in vključevanje v mednarodni gospodarski trg. Slovenska postindustrijska družba še vedno išče svojo identiteto in mesto v globaliziranem svetu, kar je predstavljeno na primeru Poslovno-proizvodne cone Tezno, ki stoji na temeljih nekdanjega gospodarskega velikana.

Title:	Brownfield Revitalisation on the Example of the Business and Industry Zone Tezno
Abstract:	My master’s thesis deals with development of the industry in the city of Maribor and puts a special emphasis on the Industrial zone Tezno. The zone was the pillar of Maribor’s economy where as TAM, the bus and commercial vehicle manufacturer, was the synonym of the city. Flowering and gradual deterioration of TAM are appropriately presented as a consequence of a misguided Yugoslavian economic politics. In the middle of the 70’s in the 20th century, non-acceptance of the key economic reforms brought destabilization in one-party system. As opposed to ex-Yugoslavia, west European countries’ economic activity had already been oriented in service assurance and not into the production of physical goods. Thus, after the break-up of Yugoslavia, the unprepared Slovenian economy had to face the emerging socio-economic conditions of the global market economy. In this master's thesis, special attention is given to socio-political changes during the still on-going transition, which require a restructuring of the economy and integration into the international economic market. Slovenian post-industrial society is still in search of its identity and place in a globalised world. This is presented on the example of the Industrial zone Tezno which is positioned on the foundation of former economic giant.
