Abstract:Šport in rekreacija postajata vse pomembnejša dejavnika v človekovem vsakdanu in posredno tudi v sodobni družbi. Posledica tega je vedno več športno-rekreacijskih objektov, športno-rekreacijskih panog in športno-rekreacijskih prireditev. Čeprav sta šport in rekreacija doživela hiter razvoj šele v zadnjih desetletjih, je telesna aktivnost pri človeku prisotna že od nekdaj, z razvojem pa se je spreminjalo tudi samo dojemanje športa in rekreacije. V magistrskem delu smo opredelili temeljne pojme o športu, opisali nastanek in razvoj športa in se nato osredotočili na športne objekte, klube in društva ter prireditve na obravnavanem območju mesta Maribor. Skozi analizo smo želeli ugotoviti, v katerem delu mesta je zgrajenih največ športnih objektov in katerim športnim panogam so namenjeni klubi, društva in športne površine. Zanimalo nas je, ali glede na to, da je pomen športa vse večji, temu trendu sledi tudi športna infrastruktura in kakšna je mestotvornost športnih objektov glede na velik pomen dejavnosti.

Title:Sport infrastructure in the city space structure of Maribor
Abstract:Sport and recreation are becoming increasingly important factors in people's everyday lives as well as in the modern society itself. As a consequence, the number of sport-recreational facilities, sport-recreational branches and sport-recreational events is constantly growing. Despite the rapid development of sport and recreation in the last couple of decades, the human physical activity has always been present, in particular with the recent change of the perception of sport. The master’s thesis defines the basic sport-related terms, and it describes the beginning and development of sport. Furthermore, it focuses on the sport facilities, clubs, associations and events in the focal area of Maribor. By conducting the analysis, we wanted to determine which part of the city has the highest number of constructed sport facilities as well as to whom the sport clubs, associations and sport areas are intended. We also wanted to know whether the sport infrastructure follows the popularity of sport, and given its importance, what is the city-building role of the sport facilities.
