Abstract:V magistrskem delu obravnavamo vpliv smrtnosti in obrestnih mer na rentna izplačila.

Title:The influence of mortality and interest rates on annuity payments
Abstract:In the master thesis we discuss the affect of mortality and interest rates on annuity payments. Interest rate risk and longevity risk pose a serious threat to the solvency of insurance companies. In time of low interest rates and longer life expectancy it is important for insurance companies to take into account all factors when formatting insurance premiums and reserves. It is also important for an insured person to decide when to buy a life annuity insurance policy. The thesis is written in a way that the first chapter describes the basic concepts of probability and statistics, actuarial definitions and labels, which helps to understand the rest of the content. The second chapter focuses on the theory of interest rates and their movement over time. In the next chapter we discuss longevity risk. We predict future mortality rates based on past data for Slovenian population, using the Lee-Carter model. Based on the obtained parameters, we analyse graphically the mortality trend and predict the expected life span for the next 107 years. These results are then used in the last chapter, where various scenarios showed the effect of annuity payments, depending on the different interest rates and the decrease or increase in mortality. The theoretical annuity background is described in chapter four.
