Abstract:Cilj raziskave je bil preveriti vpliv tanina, hmelja in vitamina E na rastnost in klavno kakovost prašičev.

Title:Effect of supplementing pigs with tannin, hops and vitamin e on growth performance and caracass quality
Abstract:The aim of the study was to find out the effect of supplemented tannin, hops and vitamin E in pigs diet on the growth and carcass quality of pigs. A fattening experiment was conducted in the period from December 2014 to February 2015. A total of 41 animals of both sexes were studied. At the beginning of the test, they weighed on average 75.1 ± 10.4 kg. After reaching the weight of 80-90 kg, the animals were fed with the BEK 2, and pigs were divided in the groups T1 (3% of the Farmatan), T2 (0.4% of hops) and in the T3 group vitamin E (125 IE α-tocopherol). During the study, the pigs were weighed three times. At slaughter, the warm weight of slaughtering halves was recorded. Muscle (m. glutaeus medius) and fat thickness were estimated, and carcass meat percentage was calculated according to the DM5 method. Data analysis showed no statistically significant effect of tannin, hops and vitamin E on the growth performance and carcass quality of pigs. Statistically significant differences (P>0,05) were found only as a effect of sex at the first and at the second weighing, where gilts had on average 11,1% (P = 0.0030) to 13,7% (P = 0.0081) lower weight in comparison to barrows.
