Abstract:Magistrsko delo je zasnovano kot teoretično delo. Obravnava glasbeno pot Jožeta Trošta. Osredotoča se na njegov skladateljski opus, predvsem na njegovo delovanje na različnih področjih in njegovemu največjemu delu, oratoriju Blaženi Anton Martin Slomšek. Slomšek je bil duhovnik, ki je iz Št. Andraža prenesel škofijski sedež v mariborsko stolnico. Magistrsko delo prikaže tudi Troštovo povezanost z narodno in cerkveno glasbo ter njegova najbolj znana dela. Jože Trošt je duhovnik in skladatelj, deloval pa je tudi kot vodja kora v ljubljanski stolnici, voditelj Orglarske šole v Ljubljani, zborovodja MePZ Anton Foerster ter urednik in cerkvenoglasbeni pisec. Oratorij Blaženi Anton Martin Slomšek je neoromantično delo za solista, zbor in simfonični orkester. V magistrskem delu je predstavljena oblikoslovna analiza oratorija. Prikazani so tudi ostali slovenski skladatelji, ki so napisali cerkveni oratorij. V magistrskem delu se dopolnjujeta dve metodološki načeli: zgodovinska analiza virov in analiza oratorija Blaženi Anton Martin Slomšek.

Title:Oratorio for two solos, chorus and orchestra: Blessed Anton Martin Slomšek composed by Jože Trošt
Abstract:The following thesis is based on theoretical research. It holds a detailed description of musical development of Jože Trošt. The main focus is on his work as a composer, his work in several musical genres and his biggest work oratorio Blessed Anton Martin Slomšek. Slomšek was a priest who relocated his post of bishop from St. Andraž to Maribor. This thesis also shows Trošt’s devotion to folk and church music and his most known work. Jože Trošt is a priest and a composer but he was also the head of choir in Ljubljana, head of Ljubljana Organ School, choir conductor of Anton Foerster Mixed Choir, an editor and a church composer. The oratorio Blessed Anton Martin Slomšek is from neoromaticism and it is made for a vocalist, choir and symphony orchestra. The thesis also holds morphological analysis of oratorio. The other Slovenian composers who wrote church oratorios are also presented. The thesis consists of two main methodological principles: historical resource analysis and The Blessed Anton Martin Slomšek oratorio analysis.
