Keywords:Klavir, partitura, vzgojno izobraževalna obdobja, uporabnost klavirja, stopnja glasbenega izobraževanja, kompetence učiteljev glasbene umetnosti.

Title:The role of the piano in music lessons at elementary school
Abstract:In the first part of the master thesis the focus lies on the piano in general. The analysis of teaching material for the subject of music presented by Albinca Pesek takes into consideration the full scores published in the textbook and emphasises the meaning and the role of musical education. In the second, empirical part we analyse the role of the piano in the pedagogical process. Using the questionnaire the hypotheses are put to the test. Based on the obtained data the emphasis is given on the usefulness of the piano in the elementary school paired with the competence of music teachers in regard to playing the piano. The master thesis shows the basic and vital role of the piano in all educational periods of the elementary school. It also shows that it is more often used in the first school years in regard to learning the melodies of songs. The competences of teachers in the context of playing the piano are improving therefore the role of the piano in the pedagogical process is increasing, especially regarding the subject of music in the elementary school.
Keywords:Piano, full score, educational periods, usefulness of the piano, level of musical education, competence of music teachers.
