Abstract:Diplomsko delo temelji na študiji različne literature in na primerjavi dveh izbranih skupin predšolskih otrok.

Title:The effect of football exercises on physical characteristics and movement skills of preschool children
Abstract:The thesis is based on a study of different literature and a comparison of two selected groups of preschool children. It is divided into theoretical and empirical part. Theoretical part is focused on the importance of movement in preschool period, physical characteristics, physical and motor development, and football as a form of sports activity. Additional sports activities for preschool children, offered by kindergartens or other providers of sport programs and sport disciplines can significantly influence child’s movement development when synchronised with development stages. The experimentally method of pedagogical research was used in empirical part. The effect of football training on the change in physical characteristics and the development of the abilities of children ages 5 to 7 were determined with the results of measurements. The research included ten boys who participated in football training in local football club, in the U-7 section (experimental group) and nine boys who were in local kindergarten and did not participate in football training (control group). The results have shown that football training statistically affected motor skills of the preschool children but not as much as we expected. Football training did not affect the child's physical characteristics.
