Abstract:Diplomsko delo prikazuje opis in uporabo programa digitalnega laboratorijskega dnevnika sciNote.

Title:Implementing digitization in the laboratory using the scinoteae program
Abstract:The diploma thesis describes the electronic lab notebook sciNote and its usage. The thesis aimed to explore and examine the said software, which enables scientists, especially those who work in a laboratory, to record, analyze and save the experimental data in a faster manner. The program allows us to create a project, which is carried out in collaboration with a project group. We are able to set time-frames, leave colleagues messages and notifications and communicate quickly. Experimental data can be entered into the program directly or uploaded through folders. The software also stores data on samples, laboratory inventory and the project implementation protocol. When several similar projects are being carried out, the existing project can be copied, thereby saving time. Furthermore, the program can automatically generate reports on finished projects. The sciNote software was initially analyzed in theory and our findings were later put into practice. Within our diploma work, data obtained through laboratory sessions was entered into the program and the program options were explored. The sciNote software is available in English, however, this did not constitute an obstacle, since the program is well-supported with visual aids, which complement the text. We have found that the program is easy to use, while the users are quick to familiarize with it and can utilize it without much effort.
