Title:Yugoslavian nationalisations (1945-1963)
Abstract:This master thesis deals with nationalisation in Yugoslavia after World War II as one of the expropriative measures of the Communist Party of Yugoslaviafor induction of socialist planned economy based on centralisation. The transition of private property into public ownership was a necessary condition for domination of the new authority on political and economic area, which was gained through confiscations, detaining and nationalisation. With terms such as “common ownership” and “people’s authority” they set up ostensible reign of working class. Until the end of 1948, the state’s economic sector became dominant since the Communist Party of Yugoslavia nationalised over 90 % of private and foreign economic corporations. Nevertheless, the management of expropriated property had more negative consequences than positive ones.
Keywords:nationalisation, expropriation, socialism, confiscations, common ownership, planned economy
