Title:Decriminalization of prohibited substances and procedures in profesional sport
Abstract:Doping is a global problem with which the competent institutions have been dealing for nearly half a century. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) appears to be lagging behind in both its quantitative and qualitative aspects as the percentage of detected cases of doping is considerably lower than in reality. Real numbers that reflect the extent of doping in professional sports are actually not available or not accessible. It is also not expected that any future research would give a realistic proportion of its use. There was not much research done in relation to doping, with the majority of known and high-profile cases, the public was acquainted more by chance as a rule. Since doping legalization represents the most effective solution, we analyzed and defined why the legalization of doping would actually be more beneficial than harmful, especially in terms of athletes and their health. By theoretical analysis of primary and secondary sources, we have compiled convincing arguments advocating the legalization of doping.
