Abstract:V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela z naslovom Matematični dnevnik v vrtcu so predstavljeni uporabnost in možnosti uporabe matematičnega dnevnika v predšolskem obdobju.

Title:Mathematical diary in kindergarten
Abstract:The theoretical part of this thesis, entitled »Mathematical Diary in the Kindergarten«, presents the applicability and the possibility of application of mathematical diary in the pre-school period. Research findings on the application of the mathematical diary in the early learning and teaching of mathematics are also presented. The purpose of the practical part of the thesis was to include the mathematical diary in the process of learning and teaching mathematical content in the kindergarten as well as to evaluate this new approach. We have prepared mathematical tasks for two different age groups, one for the first age group and one for the second age group. The children were assigned various tasks throughout the year. The tasks had to be solved and documented in the diary. Mathematical diaries were then analyzed to find out the percentage of children that had their tasks solved successfully and the percentage of those who had not. The children solved most of mathematical tasks successfully. The children were the most successful in solving geometrical tasks, while in arithmetical tasks there were some problems, since the children have a poor pencil grip. The analysis of mathematical diaries showed that the children of the second age group were a bit more successful in solving tasks which they did in their mathematical diaries.
