Abstract:Magistrsko delo z naslovom Odnosi med Anglijo in Španijo v elizabetinski dobi predstavlja politične odnose in konflikte med katoliško Španijo in protestantsko Anglijo v drugi polovici šestnajstega stoletja. V delu so s pomočjo virov in izbrane literature najprej predstavljene in opisane notranjepolitične razmere v Angliji in Španiji pod Elizabeto I. in Filipom II. Dosmrtna tekmeca nista uspela najti skupnega jezika. Tako sta nikoli uradno razglašeno in skoraj dvajset let trajajočo vojno končala šele njuna naslednika.

Title:Relations Between England and Spain in the Elizabethan Era
Abstract:The master's thesis Relations Between England and Spain in the Elizabethan Era represents political relations and conflicts between Catholic Spain and Protestant England in the second half of the sixteenth century. Based on sources and selected literature the internal political situation in England and Spain was presented and described under Elizabeth I. and Philip II. They are the rulers who, with their long years of reign, have marked the political developments in Europe at that time. The central part of the thesis, however, shows in detail the deterioration of mutual relations, which in the mid-80s grew into a never-officially declared Anglo-Spanish war (1585-1604). For almost twenty years, the war was largely held at sea, with maritime clashes in European waters and pirated looting in the colonial world. On European ground the opponents showed strength by supporting opposing sides within the French Wars of Religion (1562-1598), the Dutch War of Independence (1567-1648) and the Irish Nine Year's War (1593-1603). Lifelong rivals have not been able to find a common language, and so nearly a twenty-year-old war that was never officially proclaimed, was ended by their successors.
