Abstract:S hitrim tempom današnjega življenja smo vsi preobremenjeni in na vsakem koraku pod stresom, ki se mu dandanes, žal, še kako težko izognemo. Rekreacija in šport nam pomagata ta odvečni stres sprostiti, saj kadar se gibamo, se nam izboljšata psihično in fizično stanje.

Title:Stress prevention sports programme
Abstract:Today’s fast pace of living causes us all to feel overburdened and makes it difficult to avoid the constant stress. Being active and engaging in sport can help us release the excess stress, as moving improves our psychological and physical well-being. In the theoretical section of the paper, I defined stress and explained how it occurs in individual phases. I described what stress was like in the past and what it is like in the present-day, and how it can take a number of forms. I then presented an alternative to stress, i.e. a relaxation programme consisting of simple breathing exercises as well as deep relaxation exercises, which effectively reduce stress. I continued by defining recreation in greater detail, along with its impact on the human body, as regular exercise protects us from many injuries, prevents various diseases and strengthens our bodies so that we may live well in the years ahead of us. Finally, I wrote about exercise aimed at prevention of stress and all the ways in which it helps improve life, how movement reduces stress and promotes psychological well-being. In the research section, I prepared questions for the survey, which I carried out via the internet. I was interested in how many people believe that sport has a positive impact on one’s psychological state and that engaging in sport helps reduce stress. I also asked questions about other ways of relaxing through breathing exercises, as I wanted to find out how many people have already applied these relaxation techniques and to what extent they helped. Furthermore, I was interested in what kind of stress the respondents are experiencing and how it affects them on a daily basis. Some of the questions were aimed at discovering the reasons why some people do not engage in sport at all and why some of them only take part in it occasionally. In the final section, I summarised the entire research and its results, interpreted my hypotheses and formed a conclusion supported with my own opinion and experience.
