Title:Noun diminutives in the tourism language corpus
Abstract:In the master thesis Noun Diminutives in the Tourism Language Corpus »TURK« we studied the form and the meaning of diminutives to discover their role in the tourist types of texts. With the help of the corpus analysis in corpus TURK, we gathered the diminutives that were arranged by gender, affix and frequency to obtain accurate data on the most common affixes and the number of occurrences of them. Hereafter we arranged the diminutives by semantic fields that were determined with the help of a common ranking semantic classifier. We created seven broad semantic fields and each one was divided into a narrower semantic field. The fundamental editing principal of such a field is paradigmatic and it is determined by the common ranking semantic classifier, the field elements are developed with synonyms and diminutives, that is, the parts of the word family that maintain the common ranking classifier. Such a division of diminutives was chosen with the intent to prove that diminutives in tourist texts appear in the meaning to be small, lovely, inexperienced, while acting in a role of a modification argument.
