Title:The potential of international film co-production of a small nation
Abstract:Research of cinematographic identities of film productions in different nations is very interesting especially the ones that formed in the smaller nations. Minor cinema is on one level understood as interesting for the national but also for the international audience because of the elements that are basis for a deep feeling of national belonging. However the recurring problem which the minor cinema is facing still remains lack of interest of the national audiences in comparison with the wast European communication space. Cooperation between film makers from different countries promises a chance of producing a differentiated look on different topics and present different perspectives as also stimulates discussion on a global scale. Besides that international co-productions became important for small nations especially because of the accumulation of national and international funds. This incentives stimulate local production and create a possibility for bigger budgets and open doors to new markets because the partnership of multiple producers from different countries ensures a wider distribution.
