Abstract:	Teoretično izhodišča: Akupunktura spada med veje tradicionalne kitajske medicine. Njen izvor sega daleč v zgodovino, vsaj 5000 let nazaj. V medicini je postala zelo priljubljena metoda, saj ima malo stranskih učinkov. Metodologija: Uporabili smo deskriptivno kvantitativno raziskovalno metodologijo. Raziskovalni del je temeljil na kvantitativni metodologiji. Kot raziskovalni instrument smo uporabili vprašalnik, ki je imel 12 vprašanj. Vzorec je zajemal 116 nosečnic, ki so bile noseče ali so že rodile. Rezultati: Ugotovili smo, da 85 % anketiranih pozna akupunkturo kot pripravo na porod. 95 % žensk pozna kontraindikacije za uporabo akupunkture v nosečnosti in ob porodu. 40 % anketiranih se je odločilo za uporabo akupunkture v času nosečnosti. Sklep: Akupunktura je slabo poznana in premalo izkoriščena alternativna metoda priprave na porod.

Title:	Acupuncture in preparation for child birth
Abstract:	Theoretical starting point: Acupuncture belongs to the branches of traditional Chinese medicine. Its origin goes back to history, at least 5,000 years ago. In medicine, it has become a very popular method because it has few side effects. Methodology: We used a descriptive quantitative research methodology. The research work was based on quantitative methodology. As a research instrument, we used a questionnaire that had 12 questions. The sample included 116 pregnant women who were pregnant or had already given birth. Results: We found that 85% of respondents know acupuncture as a preparation for delivery. 95% of women know contraindications to the use of acupuncture during pregnancy and at birth. 40% of the respondents decided to use acupuncture during pregnancy. Conclusion: Acupuncture is a little known and underutilized alternative method of preparation for delivery.
