Title:The development of the sense of rhythm in art through original works of art in the preschool period
Abstract:The thesis, entitled The development of the sense of rhythm in art through original works of art in the preschool period, consists of a theoretical and practical segment. In the theoretical segment, we presented some general facts regarding art. Later, we placed the focus on art in kindergarten as defined by the curriculum. We described the principles of visual arts education that we must adhere to when planning visual arts activities. Also presented are the visual arts fields and art techniques applied, when working with kindergartners. We have provided a detailed description of the designing principle of rhythm, which is also the focal point of the thesis. It is followed by the method of aesthetic transfer, which reiterates the meaning of an aesthetic experience transfer. We have also briefly introduced several artists and touched upon the criteria that must be followed through the exercise of educational arts activities in the preschool period. In the practical segment, we have planned and performed eight visual arts activities, which were then documented and analysed. The children have used the chosen activities, which were performed in the schoolyear 2017/18, to develop a sense of rhythm in art. The performative process featured 22 children aged 5 to 6.
