V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili gibanje in otrokov razvoj. V empiričnem delu smo uporabili kavzalno-neeksperimentalno metodo raziskovanja. Raziskovalni vzorec je zajemal 100 staršev, katerih otroci obiskujejo vrtec Brezno in vrtec Slovenj Gradec. 50 anketnih vprašalnikov je bilo razdeljenih v mestni vrtec in 50 v podružnični vrtec. Kot merski instrument smo uporabili anketni vprašalnik. Obdelava podatkov je potekala po kvantitativni metodi. Uporabili smo deskriptivno statistiko in bivariantno analizo.

Title:The role of parents in the physical/sport activities of the children
Abstract:The paper entitled The role of parents in the physical/sports activities of the children consists of two parts, theoretical and empirical ones. In the theoretical part, we presented physical activities and child's development. The role of parents in the physical/sports activities of the children was presented. Further on, some other researches and findings that are linked to our paper are presented. In the empirical part, we used causal nonexperimental method of research. The research covered 100 parents whose children attend kindergarten Brezno and Slovenj Gradec. 50 questionnaires were answered in the town kindergarten and another 50 in regional kindergarten. The survey questionnaire was used as a measurement instrument. Data processing was done by means of a quantitative method. Descriptive statistics as well as bivariate analysis was applied. We found out that parents with higher level of education put more effort in encouraging their children to take up sports activities; physical/sports activities of parents influences regular physical/sport activities of children; the age of parents does not have any influence in realizing that regular physical/sports activities influence child's motor development during infancy and early childhood; the most frequent sports activities that parents do together with children are games with a ball; regardless the age of a child, the most frequent reason that prevents regular sports activities is a lack of time; education of parents is a key factor in children joining organized sports activities; parents do sports activities with their child several times a week.
