Abstract:Profesionalna kakovost življenja vpliva na kakovost življenja posameznika.

Title:Relationship between professional quality of life and empathy in nurses
Abstract:Professional quality of life affects the quality of life of an individual. Due to the nature of work, nurses are particularly exposed to the risk of burnout, which may have a negative impact level of empathy. Therefore, aim was to explore the professional quality of life and the empathy of nurses. The professional quality of life of nurses is average, nurses achieved the average score in compassion satisfaction (M = 41.2, SD = 4.4), burnout (M = 24.1, SD = 4, 6) and secondary traumatic stress (M = 25.4, SD = 6.3). Level of empathy is low (M = 43.7, SD = 5.5). We found weak negative statistically significant correlation between burnout and empathy (rs = –0.17, p = 0.017).
Keywords:job satisfaction, compassion satisfaction, compassion fatigue, burnout, nursing.
