Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo v teoretičnem delu predstavili definicijo plesa, kako se je razvijal skozi stoletja, kako vpliva na človeka in kako sta v plesu pomembna samopodoba in samospoštovanje.

Title:AMATEUR DANCERS AND THEIR ATTITUDE TO DANCE
Abstract:The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of dance, its evolution through centuries, its influence on people and the importance of self-image and self-respect in dance. Dance as an interaction between movement and music is described as well. The empirical research took place in the form of a survey conducted among swing dancers from three countries: Slovenia, Italy and Croatia. Its aim was to determine whether there are differences in their attitude to dance. In order to establish the differences, the respondents were asked a number of questions. There were 20 surveys performed in each country. The comparison of the answers showed some interesting results. In accordance with this type of research, the theoretical part also presents the historical development of swing dance as well as that of the music accompanying it.
Keywords:dance, history, swing dance, swing music
