Abstract:	Namen diplomskega dela je prikazati, kako pomembno je, da se management kakovosti vključi v razvoj novega izdelka že v samem začetku razvoja, v fazi raziskovanja tržišča in zbiranja idej. V prvem delu diplomskega dela smo opredelili področje kakovosti, še zlasti z vidika vključevanja kakovosti v proces razvoja novega izdelka. Slednje temelji na pregledu domače in tuje literature s področja managementa kakovosti. Empirični del diplomskega dela temelji na študiji primera podjetja Trimo, d.o.o. V empiričnem delu je prikazan realni primer procesa razvoja novega izdelka, vključujoč trenutne elemente zagotavljanja kakovosti. Tekom analize procesa razvoja novega izdelka smo predlagali vključitev metode QFD (ang. Quality Function Deployment) in metode FMEA (ang. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) z namenom izboljšanja obvladovanja vidikov kakovosti v procesu razvoja novega izdelka. V skladu s pregledom literature in ugotovitvami, podanimi v empiričnem delu, lahko podamo argument, da je smiselno oblikovati sistematičen pristop k vključevanju kakovosti v proces razvoja novega izdelka, podobno kot to nudi pristop naprednega načrtovanja kakovosti (PPAP).

Title:	The role and inportance of quality in the new product development
Abstract:	The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to highlight the importance of quality management to be included in development of new product, particularly from the beginning of process, in the market research phase and collection of product ideas. In the first part of the thesis, the quality objectives are defined, especially with the inclusion of quality in the process of development of the new product. The latter is based on a review of domestic and foreign literature in the field of quality management. The empirical part of the bachelor thesis is based on a case study of the company Trimo d.o.o. The empirical part presents a realistic example of the process of developing a new product, including the current elements of quality assurance. During the analysis of the new product development process, we proposed the incorporation of the QFD (Quality Function Deployment) method and the FMEA method (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) in order to improve the management of quality aspects in the process of developing a new product. In line with the literature review and the findings presented in the empirical work, we can argue that it is sensible to formulate a systematic approach to integrating quality into the process of developing a new product, in the same way as the Advanced Quality Management Approach (PPAP) offers
