Title:Group communication tools
Abstract:Communication is a part of our daily lives and is thereby extremely important to us. The aim of this thesis was to research the tools for group communication, their personal use and use in the study processes. We posted the following two hypotheses. The first hypothesis was that group communication tools satisfy most of the students' requirements and the second was that group communication tools make communication between students easier and faster. We started the research by defining communication and its properties. Next topic we investigated what elements of communication are needed for communication to be effective and what types of communication we know. We found it important to be aware of the potential problems and obstacles we might face in the communication process. We delved into business communication and why communication is so important in business. In the next sections we analysed general information about the three group communication tools, Skype, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. Each tool was theoretically examined to identify its strengths and weaknesses. The theoretical part was followed by partially structured interviews in which five students of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Maribor participated. Three of these students are studying E-commerce and two Entrepreneurship. Through the interview process, we have gained views on the importance of communication in general, the importance of verbal and non-verbal communication, the user perception of individual communication tools, and their perceived strengths and weaknesses. Finally, based on the information collected, we performed a comparative analysis and synthesized the findings.
