Title:Maintenance of speech culture on the Radio Maxi
Abstract:The aim of this diploma paper is to find out to what extent they promote speech culture on the Radio Maxi. We mostly wanted to discover the level of importance of educating radio presenters from their own perspective and the one from the audience, as well as how often presenters educate themselves and where. First, we presented the importance of the radio, legal framework of radio industry and explained the difference between commercial and national radio stations. Each radio station is featured by its specific format, scheme and plan, which is presented in detail. Journalistic types and genres also present an important aspect of the radio. One of the contents focuses on the Slovene language, social and functional types of language register. Special attention is drawn to speech demonstration and education of radio presenters. The paper also presents different institutions enabling education for radio speakers, as well as on-line manuals that facilitate searching for words and word phrases. The last part of our paper consists of presentation of the Radio Maxi and its functioning, and results based on a questionnaire about education for presenters. Being given the results of our research, radio presenters can get information on where to educate themselves and how. By promoting different linguistic manuals, journalists, presenters and other speakers on the radio are offered several options of searching for appropriate vocabulary.
