Abstract:V diplomskem projektu pojasnimo kriptovalute in njihov način ustvarjanja, kupovanja in prodaje.

Title:Profitability and risk of investments in cryptocurrencies in comparison to other forms of investments
Abstract:In the diploma project we explain what cryptocurrencies are and how we create, buy and sell them. We present the advantages and disadvantages among investments in Bitcoin, deposits, Petrol shares and investment gold as well as their taxes in Slovenia. In comparison with other investments, investment in cryptocurrency represents different rates of returns. We calculated simple return and decided which of the investment types would have been most profitable for an individual who was willing to invest in the period from 2010 to 2015. In the comparative table we show when a natural person is obliged to pay corporate tax, which includes dividends and interests from deposit. Gold investments and the buying/selling of Bitcoins are exempt from taxes. The rate of return for the chosen currency Bitcoin exceeded expectations in comparison with other investments and was among high risk investments which gave incredible return rates. The other described investments do not have such strong fluctuations as cryptocurrencies and are less risky than investing in Bitcoin.
