Abstract:	Magistrsko delo z naslovom Ljudsko petje in šege na Južnem Koroškem in v Podjuni obravnava šege in navade na avstrijskem Koroškem, deželi, v kateri se prepletata slovenska in avstrijska ljudska pesem ter kultura. Zgodovina kaže, da so se Slovenci na tem območju naselili in ostali do danes kljub burni preteklosti, v kateri so zelo zgodaj izgubili samostojnost in bili pod tujo oblastjo. V magistrskem delu je podrobneje opisana oblačilna kultura ob delavnikih in praznikih, značilna za Južno Koroško. Predstavljene so jezikovne značilnosti in slovarček narečnih izrazov, v katerem vidimo zanimive povezave med besedami. Magistrsko delo ima poudarek na ljudskosti in šegah ter navadah, ki so ljudem zmeraj manj znane. Pomemben del naloge je namenjen koroškim bukovnikom in vižarjem, ki so pustili svoj pečat ljudskosti ter preprostosti. Poleg tega, da so preproste kmečke ljudi zabavali s svojimi pesmimi, ki so jih izvajali na instrumentih ali pa samo peli, so s prevajanjem del drugih avtorjev pripomogli k temu, da se je lahko izobraževal preprost kmečki sloj oziroma vsaj tisti, ki so znali brati.

Title:	Folk singing and customs in Southern Carinthia and Podjuna
Abstract:	The master's thesis entitled Folk singing and customs in South Carinthia and Juantal deals with customs and traditions in Austrian Carinthia, a country where Slovenian and Austrian folk song and culture are intertwined. History shows that Slovenians settled and remained in this area to this day, despite a turbulent past in which they lost their independence very early and were under foreign domination. The master's thesis describes in more detail the clothing for working days and on feast days, specific to South Carinthia. Linguistic features and a glossary of dialect words are presented, in which we see interesting connections between words. The master's thesis focuses on popularity, customs and traditions that are still less known to people. An important part of the task is dedicated to the Carinthian bukovniks and vižars, who have left their mark on folklore and simplicity. In addition to entertaining simple peasant people with their songs, performing them on instruments or just singing, they also helped to educate simple peasants, or at least those who could read, by translating works of other authors.
