Abstract:Namen diplomskega dela Spodbujanje domišljije otrok na področju osnov odtiskovanja v 2. starostnem obdobju je predstaviti likovni razvoj otrok v predšolskem obdobju in podrobneje preučiti ustvarjalnost – kaj sploh ustvarjalnost je, zakaj jo je potrebno razvijati in katere so njene značilnosti.

Title:Encouraging Children's Imagination in the Basics of Printmaking in the 2nd Age Bracket
Abstract:The purpose of the diploma thesis “Encouraging Children's Imagination in the Basics of Printmaking in the 2nd Age Bracket” is to present the artistic development of children in the preschool period and to take a closer look at creativity – what creativity is, why it should be developed, and what its characteristics are. Also mentioned are the methods of encouraging artistic creativity, focusing on a child's imagination skills; in the practical section, these skills were encouraged with the described artistic techniques used in the basics of printmaking. I wished to determine which artistic technique makes the child most creative or which technique contributes the most to triggering the child's imagination, and which children are more creative – younger or older ones. It has been determined that if children are given free rein, they will express themselves creatively in any artistic technique, thus making it impossible to single one out. As regards the differences in creativity between younger and older children, it can be said that younger children are slightly more creative, which is a result of their development. In the diploma thesis, a descriptive and comparative research method was used. The data collection procedure used belongs to the qualitative techniques. The data was collected based on art activities carried out in May and June in a group of 19 children, aged 3 to 6, at a branch of the Ruše Kindergarten – the Bistrica ob Dravi Kindergarten.
