Abstract:	Magistrsko delo z naslovom Kazalniki uspešnosti železniškega prometa na primeru Slovenije in Kanade se ukvarja s primerjavo dveh izrazito različnih držav na področju železniškega prometa. Govorimo o majhni evropski državi z majhno površino in veliko pokritosti v primerjavi z veliko državo z majhno pokritostjo železniškega prometa. Pri raziskovanju smo se seznanili z javno dostopnimi informacijami, ki so najustreznejše za primerjavo. Ključni kazalniki uspešnosti predstavljajo kompas delovanja podjetja. Postali so nepogrešljivi del letnih poročil in merilo uspešnosti ter učinkovitosti delovanja podjetja. Za lažjo oz. učinkovitejšo primerjavo smo uporabili podatke treh let. Primerjava večjih let namreč prikaže realnejšo sliko uspešnega poslovanja podjetja. Ker govorimo o javnem potniškem in tovornem prometu, so ključni kazalniki uspešnosti prilagojeni dejavnosti. Na osnovi analize podatkov smo podali ugotovitve in možnosti izboljšav obstoječega stanja obvladovanja železniškega prometa tako v Sloveniji kot v Kanadi.

Title:	Railways performance indicators in the case of slovenia and canada
Abstract:	The master thesis entitled: »Railway success indicators in Slovenia and Canada« focuses on the comparison of two distinctly different countries in the field of railway traffic. We are talking about a small European country with a small surface and a great railway coverage in comparison to a large country with a low railway coverage. In the process of research we gathered publicly accessible information most suitable for comparison. The key indicators of success represent the way a company operates. They have become an indispensible part of the annual reports and a standard of success and efficiency in the comopany's operations. For a simpler and more efficient comparison we used data from a three year span, because this kind of comparison paints a more realistic picture of how a successful company operates. Because the topic is public passenger and freight transport, the key success indicators are adjusted to those activities. Based on data analysis, we have come up with findings and potential solutions on how to better manage railway traffic in Slovenia as well as in Canada.
