Abstract:Magistrsko delo z naslovom Vikingi napadajo Pariz. Zgodovinska dejstva in njihova interpretacija danes temelji na virih in strokovni literaturi. Ključni vir predstavlja serija Vikingi, saj je njihov prikaz pomemben za primerjavo s strokovno literaturo. Magistrsko delo je razdeljeno na več poglavij, zajema pa čas od antike in do konca vikinških vpadov na francosko ozemlje. V prvem delu so opisani splošni podatki o Vikingih in njihovem življenju, sledi poglavje o življenju na današnjem francoskem ozemlju pred njihovim prihodom, nato vpadi na francosko ozemlje. Ta poglavja predstavijo dogajanje pred napadom na Pariz, ki predstavlja osrednji del magistrskega dela. Njihov napad je avtorica primerjala s tem, kako so ga prikazali v seriji, magistrsko delo pa je končala s poglavjem o nastanku Normandije, saj je pri tem sodelovala oseba, ki je bila pomembna pri napadu na Pariz.

Title:Vikings attack Paris. Historical facts and their contemporary interpretation
Abstract:The master's thesis entitled “Vikings Attack Paris. Historical Facts and Their Contemporary Interpretation” is based on sources and professional literature. The key source is the television series Vikings because its portrayal of Vikings is important for drawing comparisons with the professional literature. The master's thesis is divided into several chapters covering the period from Antiquity to the end of Viking raids on French territory. The first chapter gives general information on Vikings and their way of life; this is followed by a chapter on what is now French territory prior to their arrival, and by a discussion of Viking raids on French territory. These chapters present the events preceding the attack on Paris, which makes up the body of the thesis. The author compares the actual attack with how it was portrayed in the series; the thesis concludes with a chapter on the formation of Normandy which involved a person who had played a major role in the attack on Paris.
