Abstract:V delu predstavimo spreminjanje kontinentalnosti v Evropi med leti 1938 in 2018.

Title:Changing of the continentality indices between the years 1938 and 2018
Abstract:The thesis presents continentality changes in Europe in the period between 1938 and 2018. Data from 443 weather stations, i.e. 387 European and 56 Non-European stations, was gathered. The Supan, Gorczynski, Conrad, Ivan, Khromov, Johansson and Ringleb continentality indices were used to calculate the climate indices. The data was processed with the MATLAB software. Contour plots were created in the ArcGIS environment, while the graphs were created with Excel. Results show that, based on continuous contour plots, climate indices are quite comparable, with some discrepancies shown by the Khromov Continentality Index. However, we have observed differences between individual indices in discrete contour plots. We have established that the continentality indices trends in the observed period have changed. We have shown that the climate in Europe is becoming more maritime, predominantly in North and Eastern Europe, while in some areas it is becoming more continental, especially along the Mediterranean Sea. The temperature trend has not been positive throughout Europe, and especially in areas along the Mediterranean Sea it has also been negative, but this was not the case throughout the whole year. We have also shown that the temperature trend strongly depends on time of year or month.
