Abstract:	Namen prispevka: V prispevku bomo opredelili in proučevali dejavnike ter vire ogrožanja varnosti, s katerimi se srečujejo policisti pri svojem delu in pojasnili tveganja ter škodljivosti in nevarnosti pri njihovem delu. Analizirali bomo percepcijo virov ogrožanja varnosti policistov pri njihovem delu. Metode: Empirična raziskava o percepciji virov ogrožanja varnosti policistov pri njihovem delu je bila opravljena leta 2014 na populaciji policistov in policistk v Republiki Sloveniji. V reprezentativni vzorec je bilo zajetih 181 policistov in policistk z vseh osmih policijskih uprav. Dojemanje ogroženosti na delovnem mestu smo merili s pomočjo 5-stopenjske Likertove lestvice. Ugotovitve: Rezultati raziskave kažejo, da se policisti in policistke počutijo ogrožene na delovnem mestu. Največjo skrb namenjajo predvsem okužbam pri delu, slabemu medsebojnemu odnosu znotraj delovnega mesta ter nevarnostim v zvezi z delovnimi prostori. Omejitve/uporabnost raziskave Raziskava je bila opravljena na reprezentativnem vzorcu, ki je dovolj velik, da lahko posplošimo na celotno populacijo. Praktična uporabnost: Rezultati so uporabni pri nadaljnji oziroma ponovni reviziji Izjave o varnosti z oceno tveganja v Ministrstvu za notranje zadeve ter celovitem varnostnem menedžmentu in varnostni politiki na delovnem mestu policista. Izvirnost/pomembnost prispevka: Do sedaj še ni bilo opravljenih veliko raziskav med zaposlenimi policisti in policistkami v Republiki Sloveniji, ki bi v celoti zajele vire ogrožanja pri njihovem delu.

Title:	The Sources of Security Treats to the Police Officers at their Work
Abstract:	Purpose: In the paper authors identify and examine the factors and sources of security threats police officers face at their work. Paper explains the possible risks, harmful effects and dangers of police work. It also exposes police officers’ perception of sources of threats to the security at their work. Design/Methods/Approach: Empirical study on the perception of the sources of threats of security to police officers at their work has been carried out in 2014. The sample consisted of 181 police officers from all eight police directorates. The perception of threats at the workplace was measured using 5-point Likert scale. Findings: Survey results indicate that police officers feel threatened in their workplace. They are most strongly concerned about particular infections at work, poor peer relationships at the workplace as well as risks relating to the places of their work. Research Limitations / Implications: The survey was conducted on a representative sample of police officers, so it can be generalized to the entire population. Practical Implications: The results are useful for the revision of Statement on safety and risk assessment at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and for comprehensive security management as well as for security policy at police officers’ workplace. Originality/Value: To date there have not been many surveys carried out among police officers in the Republic of Slovenia, which would systematically covered the sources of threats at their work.
