Glavni cilj dela je bil ugotoviti povezanost ljudskih običajev, rekov oziroma pregovorov z življenjem in pomenom svetnikov v skladu z reprezentacijo v ikonografskih razsežnostih.

Title:Motives of saints on beehive panels
Abstract:The final work entitled The Saints on the Beehive panels consists of theoretical and practical work. The purpose of the theoretical part is to present the beginnings of beekeeping, their development and the emergence of beehive panels. We investigated the painting technique of the panels and the material used by the creators in the 18th and 19th centuries. We then focused on pious motives with depictions of saints in connection with their lives, the purpose and meaning of their depictions on the beehive panels in accordance with the art-historical method. The main aim of the work was to determine the connections between folk customs and proverbs with the life and meaning of the saints in accordance with their representation in iconographic dimensions. The current goals of the research were to investigate the most common saint motives and various typologies of saints. In the practical part we made an apiary modeled after Anton Janša and hives, which eventually served as an exhibit of the beehive panels. In the production of the panels we have taken into account the painting principles that were written at the time of their creation.
