Skozi leta so bile bolnišnice in zdravstvene ustanove prisiljene v širitve, reorganizacije, pridružitve in integracije z drugimi bolnišnicami, kar je otežilo orientiranje pacientom, zaposlenim in obiskovalcem. Diskusija in zaključek: Problema orientiranja ni mogoče rešiti zgolj z vpeljavo posameznega pristopa orientiranja, temveč s sinergijo različnih orientacijskih pristopov, s katerimi zadovoljimo najširši krog uporabnikov.

Title:Solving the problem of patient, employee and visitor orientation in the hospital
Abstract:Introduction: Navigating large hospitals can be a source of discomfort, stress and frustration for their stakeholders. Through the years hospitals and healthcare organizations went through numerous expansions, reorganizations and mergers with other hospitals, which has complicated navigation of their patients, employees and visitors. The purpose of the thesis was to present the problem of hospital navigation, through conduction of a systematic literature review, and create a navigation model prototype, based on the identified good practices. Research methodology: The thesis is based on qualitative research methodology. 38 research papers were identified and reviewed during a systematic literature review conducted on the Web of Science, ScienceDirect and ProQuest Disserations & Theses Global databases. Navigation model prototype was based on the findings of the systematic review. Results: Since bad navigation leads to excessive costs, promotes stress and discomfort in patients and visitors, lowers reputation and safety of the organization, justification for the need of creating and using comprehensible healthcare symbols has been provided. Introduction of pictogram use would benefit indoor hospital navigation, without requiring any hospital interior alterations. As a guideline for mobile application, a navigation model prototype was introduced, aiming to simplify and improve hospital navigation. Discussion and conclusion: Since applying individual navigation measures cannot solve the navigation problem, a synergy of different measures, covering the widest range of users, is required. The navigation model prototype introduced in this thesis also considers the needs of vulnerable groups.
