Abstract:Namen prispevka: Ker Slovenija ni izjema na področju uživanja drog, so v prispevku predstavljene bistvene razlike med različnimi starostnimi skupinami na področju problematike drog ter kakšna so njihova stališča do drog (prepovedanih, dovoljenih). Izvirnost/pomembnost prispevka: Prispevek predstavlja stališča različnih starostnih skupin do drog zajetih v raziskavi. Rezultati so širše uporabni, saj prikazujejo odnos in stališča slovenske populacije do samih drog in omogočajo primerjavo stališč ter odnosa do drog med posameznimi starostnimi skupinami in spoloma.

Title:Point of view on drugs
Abstract:Purpose: Because Slovenia is no exception in the field of drug use are in this paper presented significant differences among different age groups regarding drug problems and what are their attitudes towards drugs (illicit, permitted). Design/Methods/Approach: The concept of the paper is to analyze similar surveys at home and abroad. We made a pilot study, which involved a total of 90 respondents from Slovenia, of which 30 are secondary school students, 30 are students and 30 are representatives of the active population, employed and aged from 30 to 55 years. Findings: The results showed that all age groups share the same opinion in 20%, which means that there are important differences between them. Active population considers “drug is a drug”, whether it is alcohol or heroin, students strictly distinguish between permitted and prohibited drugs, students are neutral. Third of students are not interested in prevention or lack the knowledge. Active population would limit access to legal drugs to 21 years, secondary school students and students would leave it at 18 years. Worryingly, a growing proportion of older people are taking drugs, especially the combination of alcohol and drugs and that there is no accustomed assistance and prevention programs in Slovenia for the elderly people. Research limitations/implications: The survey is limited to residents of Slovenia. Pilot survey sample is adequate, but the representativeness is not verified. Practical implications: The survey is useful for all who work with different age groups, all on the field of drugs and addiction, and in the field of prevention. Post gives signals that preventive action should be focused towards the younger population, because most children are already facing alcohol and tobacco at home. It would be also necessary to increase the number of prevention programs for the elderly population. Originality/Value: The paper presents the views of different age groups on drugs covered by the survey. The results are broadly applicable, because they show the attitude and position of the Slovenian population to drugs themselves and allow the comparison of views and attitudes towards drug use among different age groups and genders.
