Title:3Rd grade students with tablets at the preventive systematic health check-up about healthy lifestyle
Abstract:The purpose of the master's thesis was to find out what proportion of schools still accompany students to the preventive systematic health check-up, which hours are devoted to visiting it in the 1st and 3rd grade of primary school, and last but not least, if this visit is intended only for examination of pupils or are there also other activities on this day going on, which are prepared by either teachers or health professionals. The answers were obtained with the help of an anonymous online survey questionnaire, which was sent to 1st and 3rd grade teachers in Slovenia. The responses were obtained from 126 teachers. According to the obtained data, the majority of children (84.9%) are still accompanied to health-check-ups by the class teacher or another professional within the framework of the lessons. The results showed that teachers devote regular class hours and hours of activity days to these health check-ups equally often. Also, less than half of teachers and health professionals choose to carry out additional activities as part of these check-ups. As part of health-check-ups, health professionals most often conduct lectures and workshops on a healthy lifestyle and healthy posture. Teachers, on the other hand, most often prepare activities related to a healthy lifestyle, as well as various games and worksheets to achieve content reinforcement of various subjects. In order not to leave unused hours while waiting for the examination, in the practical part of the master thesis a proposal of materials for use in the waiting room was prepared. The material is available online for use on tablets. Tablets are small, light and easy to use, so they allow us to learn outside the classroom in a variety of environments. Many studies highlight the positive impact of tablets on pupils’ motivation and attention. Given that technology is an integral part of our lives, it is right to take advantage of it for learning as well, not just for fun.
