| Abstract: | Through the study of literature, we learned and adopted knowledge about the nature of national parks, and learned about their connection with tourism and the various challenges they face. The theoretical part is based on the issues of the Una National Park, the study of opportunities for the development of sustainable tourism and research on how tourism as one of the leading factors affects sustainable development in the protected area. We highlighted the main features of this protected area and compared them with the main features of the Plitvice Lakes National Park. In order to identify the current situation and position of the Una National Park and offer guidelines for their improvement, we made a benchmarking analysis. In this regard, we assessed and analyzed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Una National Park, through a SWOT analysis. Through empirical research and a semi-structured interview, we found that infrastructure, lack of activities for visitors and poor financial investment are factors that affect the slower development of tourism in this protected area. With the help of experts from the Una National Park and their opinions on the problems of this protected area, we received very important information, which helped us in creating a tourism development strategy, which contains a vision, priorities and measures for tourism development. As guidelines, we have created two sustainable outdoor tourism packages - Adrenaline experience in Una National Park and Outdoor Workshop - in nature. |
