Abstract:Na Univerzitetnem kmetijskem centru Pohorski dvor na Fakulteti za kmetijstvo in biosistemske vede Univerze v Mariboru smo v letu 2019 v nasadu češenj sort 'Regina' in 'Kordia', cepljenih na podlago Gisela 5, izvedli poskus, v katerem smo testirali vpliv intenzivnosti zimske rezi na količino in parametre kakovosti pridelka.

Title:Effects of Different Pruning Intensities on Sweet Cherry (Prunus avium L.) Cultivar 'Regina' and 'Kordia' yields
Abstract:In 2019, at the University Agricultural Centre Pohorski Dvor of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, University of Maribor, an experiment was conducted in a sweet cherry plantation of ‘Regina’ and ‘Kordia’ grafted on Gisela 5 rootstock in order to study the effects of different intensity of dormant pruning on yield quantity and quality. The experiment included four different treatments, which represented light, standard and severe pruning and control (no pruning). In light pruning, crown was thinned, whereas in standard pruning approach, in addition to crown thinning, pruning also involved rejuvenation of fruit bearing wood in the upper part of the crown and thinning of poorly fruiting branches. The severe pruning included additional shortening of one-year shoots to two vegetative buds. In control, no pruning took place. The results show that intensification of dormant pruning has negative impact on yield quantity and positive impact on fruit diameter and fruit weight. The influence of the different intensities of pruning on internal fruit quality was not consistent. The reaction of the sweet cherry variety ‘Regina’ was significantly more predictable and consistent when compared to the variety ‘Kordia’.
