Abstract:V magistrskem delu je predstavljena teorija digitalne dominance in meditizacije spletnih platform Google in Facebook. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljene sorodne študije in teorije, uredniški vplivi platform ter najpomembnejši problemi, ki jih prinašajo. Prav tako je podrobneje predstavljena njihova vloga vratarjev informacij ter učinek informacijskih mehurčkov. Teoriji digitalne dominance in mediatizacije sta bili podlagi za izvedbo ankete in intervjujev med uporabniki obeh platform. Magistrsko delo je namenjeno raziskovanju uporabe platform, vplivu platform na uporabnike ter odnosu do odgovornosti in regulacije platform.

Title:Digital dominance and mediatization of online platforms
Abstract:This Master's thesis presents the theories of digital dominance and the mediatisation of the online platforms Google and Facebook. The theoretical part includes related studies and theories, a comprehensive overview of the platforms’ editorial influences, and their most common issues. Their gatekeeping role and filter bubble are presented additionally. Theories of digital dominance and mediatisation were the basis for the preparation of a questionnaire and interviews with users of both platforms. This Master’s thesis is aimed at researching platforms` usage, their influences on the users, and users’ attitude to platforms’ responsibility and regulation.
