Title:Risks and supply chains performance
Abstract:In this diploma thesis we described the supply chain itself, as well as presented its management. We first defined supply chains, and listed the types of flows that make up each supply chain. At the same time, we also described what it means to understand supply chains, catalogued their subjects and functions. We also superficially touched on logistics and presented the connection between it and supply chains. Finally, we also researched the risks in supply chains, and came to the conclusion that there are many risks known today and that managing them is crucial. We were interested in where we can find acute crucial points of logistics and supply chains and in which areas managers can make sure that there are no unwanted delays, noises, and crises in the supply network. At the same time, we tried to find the most optimal solutions to eliminate such problems, as the goal of every manager must be to eliminate risks in supply chains before problems / crises occur. Through research questions that we sent to successful Slovenian companies, we found that the most important component of supply chains is definitely the staff that makes them up and that today companies cannot operate without a properly functioning supply chain. At the same time, we have come to the conclusion that all those who are already investing in supply chains more than is absolutely necessary will always be one step ahead of the competition and thus their existence on the market will not be questionable.
