Analizirani in opisani bodo relevantni pojmi in instituti. Kako taka živila prepoznati v trgovini, kakšne so njihove prednosti in slabosti. S pomočjo navedb, citatov in uporabe izpiskov bodo ugotovitve dodatno argumentirane.

Title:The consumers view on organically produced food and genetically modified organisms
Abstract:We live in an era of information that travels in various ways. In an era, where every individual wants what is best for his health. Because of easier access to information, we are increasingly informed of ways to guarantee a better quality of life, this has resulted in in an increased interest in the quality and source of food. With the appearance of ecological farming, the consumers have developed a great to this type of food. People want to know to be sure of the source and quality of food and have a great resistance to genetically modified foods. It is hard to be sure why, but in our environment such sustenance is infamous. This can be a consequence of the fact, that we fear that which we do not know. If we compare Europe and the United states of America, we learn that we are dealing with two very different cultures which have diametrically opposite views on food. While the European Union supports ecologically produced food, grown on small farms and is reluctant to accept novelties in genetically modified food, the United states of America approaches food production, with large farms that provide a high level of self-sufficiency. The consumer is a driving force, with a decisive influence on the development of the entire food industry and with his shopping habits directs market development and consequently affects the decisions of food growers as to what kind of produce they will grow. It is important to differentiate between food grown in markets where purchasing power is high and food grown to sustain the population of the whole world. For satisfying the demand for both types of food, ecologically grown and genetically modified foods have their strengths and weaknesses. Without theoretical knowledge we lack the basis for successful research, which is why we will firstly explain what ecologically produced and genetically modified food actually is. The methods we will use is the study of foreign and Slovenian literature, in order to form a larger picture of ecological farming and the production of genetically modified organisms. We will analyze and describe relevant concepts and institutes. How we identify types of produce in stores and what kind of advantages or disadvantages they provide. We will use the comparative method, to compare the properties of ecologically produced food and food production with genetically modified organism. By conducting a survey and statistical processing, we will either confirm or refute our research questions. We wish to discover the correlation between the income and shopping habits, specifically if low income consumers actually buy ecologically produced food and why there is resistance to genetically modified food. We will attempt to find out if genetically modified food is of a lower quality than ecologically produced. With the help of indications and citations we will provide additional arguments for our findings.
