Abstract:	Cenovna stabilnost je ena od ključnih sestavin gospodarske prosperitete. V evroobmočju je Evropska centralna banka tista, ki mora v obsegu svojega mandata srednjeročno ohranjati cenovno stabilnost blizu, ampak pod 2 %. V delu diplomskega projekta smo z analiziranjem obdobja od leta 1999 do leta 2019 našli glavne dejavnike dinamike inflacije v evroobmočju. Obdobje od leta 2012 do 2016 so zaznamovale izredno nizke inflacijske stopnje. Ugotovili smo, da je bilo v tem obdobju več dezinflacijskih dejavnikov, kot so padanje cen nafte, nizka pričakovanja o prihodnji inflaciji, manjše agregatno povpraševanje, padec cen blaga in storitev, uvoznih cen in cen industrijskih proizvajalcev ter nižja produktivnost. Na podlagi študija literature o učinku uvoza iz Kitajske smo ugotovili, da ima cenejši uvoz vpliv na nižanje stopnje inflacije. V evroobmočju je prav tako prisotno sorazmerno sinhronizirano gibanje inflacije z državami OECD.

Title:	The Specificities of Inflation Movements in the Euro Area
Abstract:	Price stability is one of the key components of economic prosperity. In the euro area, it is the European Central Bank that has to maintain price stability below, but close to 2% in the medium term, as written in its mandate. In our paper, we analyzed the main factors of inflation dynamics in the euro area in the period from 1999 to 2019. The period from 2012 to 2016 was marked by exceptionally low inflation rates. We find that during this period there were other disinflationary factors in play, such as falling oil prices, low inflation expectations, less agregate demand, falling prices of goods and services, lower import and producers prices and lower productivity. Based on the literature on Chinese imports we concluded that cheaper imports had a downwards impact on inflation in the euro area. We can also confirm a fairly synchronized inflation movement between the euro area and the OECD countries.
