Abstract:V zadnjih letih so planine in gore vse bolj obiskane. V prvem poglavju magistrskega dela smo opredelili okolje in opisali problem, s katerim se ukvarja raziskava, namene, cilje, hipoteze in metode raziskovanja.

Title:Mountaineering training
Abstract:Each year, more and more people are visiting the mountains. As the number of mountain visitors increases, so does the number of accidents related to mountain activities. Most common causes for such accidents are poor trip planning and preparation, lack of skills and experience, and overeagerness for adventure and adrenaline. In order to prevent as many such events as possible, various means of education and types of lessons are established in Slovenia. Educated professionals (e.g. certified mountain guides) are the ones from whom individuals can gain the required knowledge and technical skills in order to overcome the hazards, reach the mountain objective, and return safely back to the valley. In the first chapter of this thesis, we defined the environment and described the research problem, purposes, goals, hypotheses and research methods. In the second chapter, we defined the concept of education, and outlined what mountaineering and hiking means. We presented the Mountaineering Association of Slovenia, described the currently available types of mountaineering and hiking education, and emphasized the importance of this education from the safety perspective. In the third chapter, we presented a study which has been used as the basis to obtain key data on mountaineering and hiking education and on habits of mountaineers and hikers. We asked ten research questions, the findings of which form the conclusion of the master's thesis. The research was conducted in the form of a questionnaire. At the end, we presented possible solutions and improvements on how the inclusion of mountaineering education could improve the knowledge of hikers and mountaineers and, consequently, reduce the number of accidents that occur in the mountains.
