Podatki so bili zbrani z dvema standardiziranima anketnima vprašalnikoma. Sodelovalo je 100 bolnikov s sladkorno boleznijo tipa 2. Zbrani podatki so bili analizirani s pomočjo deskriptivne in inferenčne statistike.

Title:Problems and feelings of patients with type 2 diabetes
Abstract:Background: Patients with diabetes are often confronted with a negative attitude towards diabetes, face difficulties coping with their condition and experience mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, stress and eating disorders, which can have a negative effect on how they manage diabetes. This research aimed to explore the well-being of patients with type 2 diabetes and the challenges they face. Research methodology and methods: Quantitative methodology was used. Data were collected by two standardised questionnaires. 100 patients with type 2 diabetes participated in the survey. The collected data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: When assessing their well-being and negative emotions respondents scored 23.28 points on average (SD = 18.72), while in answering the questionnaire about their health respondents scored 5.61 points (SD = 5.20). Patients with high levels of HbA1c have more problems than patients with recommended levels of HbA1c (U = 386,500; p < 0,001)Furthermore, a statistically significant correlation has been found between diabetes duration and the number of problems faced by patients with type 2 diabetes (r = 0,520; p < 0,001). Discussion and conclusion: It has been found that patients with a longer-lasting medical condition and with higher levels of HbA1c have more problems. A timely education of patients with diabetes is crucial. Future research could put more focus on the well-being and challenges of patients with type 2 diabetes.
