Title:The Influence of Different Musical Rhythms on Milk Yield and Milk Composition of Dairy Cows
Abstract:A study examining the influence of different musical rhythms on milk yield and milk composition of dairy cows was conducted on the Žampa farm in 2019. Animal welfare is economically and ethologically essential for the progress and achieving the farmer’s high-set goals. This can only be achieved by an animal that has good consumption abilities and habits and a pleasant, comfortable environment. The latter also includes the influence of music. The experiment in a computer-controlled barn on 33 cows of the Holstein breed lasted 60 days and was divided into three periods of music (slow, no music and fast). Morning and evening milk quantities were excluded from the Dairy Plan program for each day of the experiment, while samples for analysis of milk parameters of individual animals were taken every twentieth day. We found that slow music has a beneficial effect on production, because during this period we recorded the highest amounts of milk, the highest were also the average contents of fat, protein, lactose and SSBM. Research has given impetus to experiment on a larger scale, on more animals and over a longer period, since music does affect milk yield parameters.
