Abstract:Pokopališča predstavljajo pomemben del našega okolja in so običajno umeščena v bližino mest oziroma naselji.

Title:Problems and dilemmas managing game at Slovenian cemeteries
Abstract:Cemeteries represent an important part of our environment and are usually installed in vicinity of towns and settlements, respectively. Due to this fact, there comes to conflicts between animals along with people as game frequent cemeteries also, so they can inflict damage. The biggest problem at cemeteries is normally related to animals which are subjected to hunter's legislature. Furthermore, the ones who govern it are people themselves. Game management is important because nature's conditions are demolished, yet the outcome can be noticed as problematic on areas where people do not hunt. Hunting game usually takes place with firearms and due to this characteristic, it has certain restrictions where it can be realized. This is why it is vital to seek other solutions related to problems with game on cemeteries as well as what kind of procedures would be acceptable to graveyard management and residents of Slovenia. Amongst received answers of graveyard managers, most common given solutions were passive protections, e.g. fences which to greater extent have been proven as game efficient. Their answers also include statements that more problems as game are made by snails, pigeons, and cats. In an online survey we tried to find out if interviewees visit graveyards, how often and which ones. We were interested if they have seen animals whilst visiting graveyards, how often, and which ones. Answers portrayed the most common ones were birds and cats, meanwhile other animals were rarely observed at cemeteries. Oftener animal faeces are noticed there. In continuation we wondered, would they or would they not agree with certain restraints regarding game problem. The majority felt strongly opposed taking measures where animal would perish. On the other hand, narrow majority completely agreed upon building passive protections.
