Abstract:	Diplomsko delo z naslovom Baletni oddelek Glasbene šole Fran Korun Koželjski Velenje je sestavljeno iz teoretičnega in empiričnega dela. V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili razvoj plesa in baleta ter razvoj baleta v Sloveniji. Poudarili smo pomen, ki ga ima ples za razvoj otroka, saj močno prispeva k njegovemu socialnemu, čustvenemu, intelektualnemu in fizičnemu razvoju. Predstavili smo baletni oddelek Glasbene šole Frana Koruna Koželjskega, ki ga sestavljajo baletni vrtec, plesne pripravnice in program ples - balet. Glasbena šola Frana Koruna Koželjskega kot institucija skrbi, da otroci razvijajo in gojijo ljubezen do plesa in plesnega izražanja. V empiričnem delu smo po določenem protokolu evalvirali baletne produkcije in opravili intervju z baletnima učiteljicama. Ugotovili smo, da ples vpliva na samozavest in samopodobo otroka, da se otroci prek nastopanja učijo vživljanja v različne vloge, razvijajo svoje gibalne sposobnosti in se izražajo skozi gib. Kakovost izobraževalnih programov Glasbene šole Frana Koruna Koželjskega se odraža ne vedno večjem številu vpisanih otrok. Glasbena šola vzgaja generacije, ki pripomorejo k nadaljnjemu ohranjanju plesne tradicije in kulture, tako da otroci kasneje prenašajo ljubezen do plesa na svoje otroke in se udeležujejo kulturnih dogodkov in prireditev. Ugotovili smo tudi, da Glasbena šola Frana Koruna Koželjskega prispeva k bogatitvi kulturnega utripa mesta Velenje, in s tem dviguje raven izobraženosti tega področja.

Title:	The Fran Korun Music school of Velenje - Ballet department
Abstract:	The thesis titled Ballet Department of Fran Korun Koželjski Velenje Music School contains the theoretical and the empirical part. We presented the development of dance and ballet, and the development of ballet in Slovenia in the theoretical part. We emphasized the importance of dance in a child’s development as it contributes greatly to his or her social, emotional, intellectual and physical development. We presented the Ballet department of Fran Korun Koželjski Music School, which includes ballet for kindergarten children, pre-ballet classes and a ballet program. Fran Korun Koželjski Music School, as an institution encourages children to develop and cultivate a love for dance and musicality. In the empirical part, we made evaluations of ballet productions and conducted an interview with two ballet teachers. We learned that dancing improves child’s self-confidence and self-image, children learn to empathize through their performance of different roles, develop creative movement skills and express themselves through movement. Over the years, the quality of Fran Korun Koželjski Music School has improved, and every year more children are enrolled in their ballet educational programs. We also found out that Fran Korun Koželjski Music School contributes to the enrichment of Velenje’s cultural pulse of and thus raises the level of cultural awareness. Fran Korun Koželjski Music School also educates generations, who help to further preserve the dance traditions and culture, so that the children later on in their life pass their love of dance on their children and attend cultural events.
