Abstract:	V diplomskem delu je predstavljen šport konjskih dirk in problem dopinga dirkalnih konjev. Boj proti dopingu predstavlja svetovni problem v svetu športa. Uporabo dopinga pa ne beležimo samo pri ljudeh, ampak tudi pri živalih, zlasti dirkalnih konjih, za izboljšanje nastopov na športnih tekmovanjih. V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela so predstavljene konjske dirke, tako v svetu kot v Sloveniji. Prav tako je predstavljena definicija dopinga, lista prepovedanih snovi in postopkov v športu konjskih dirk, razlogi za doping dirkalnih konjev, postopek nadzora dopinga ter kazni zlorabe le tega. Sledita svetovno zelo odmevna dopinška primera dirkalnih konjev in nekaj primerov dopinga dirkalnih konjev slovenskih športnikov, ki jih je zelo malo in tudi niso medijsko odmevni. Zadnji del diplomske naloge predstavlja empirični del, ki temelji na analizi vnaprej določenih petih vprašanj, ki so bila zasnovana za osebe, ki so povezane s konjskimi dirkami v Sloveniji. Na podlagi zbranih informacij je bilo ugotovljeno, da konjske dirke v Sloveniji niso razširjene, da primanjkuje finančnih sredstev za boljšo organizacijo in izvedbo samih dirk. Ugotovljeno je bilo, da doping v slovenskem konjskem dirkanju ni razširjen, na kar bi lahko vplivalo tudi manjše število doping testiranj. Za izboljšanje problema dopinga bi bilo potrebno izvajati redne doping kontrole tako izven tekmovanj kot na tekmah, ne glede na pomembnost dirke ter dati večji poudarek na pomembnost izobraževanja veterinarjev in trenerjev o zdravljenju in prehranjevanju konj. Prav tako bi bilo potrebno ustanoviti skupni vodilni organ, ki bi urejal celotno protidopinško gibanje konjskih dirk.

Title:	Doping of Racehorses
Abstract:	The thesis presents the sport of horse racing and the problem of doping of racehorses. The fight against doping is a global problem in the world of sports. The use of doping is not only recorded in humans, but also in animals, especially racehorses, to improve performance in sport competitions. In the theoretical part of the thesis are presented horse races, both in the world and in Slovenia. The definition of doping, the List of prohibited substances and procedures in the sport of horse racing, the reasons for doping racehorses, the procedure of doping control and the penalties for its abuse, are also presented. This is followed by two very resounding examples of doping cases of racehorses in the world and a few cases of doping of racehorses in Slovenia, which are very few and are not well-known in the media. The last part of the thesis is the empirical part, based on the analysis of five pre-determined questions, which were designed for people related to horse racing in Slovenia. Based on the gathered information, it was determined that horse racing is not widespread in Slovenia, that there is a deficit of financial resources for better organization and implementation of the races themselves. It has been concluded that doping in Slovenian horse racing is not widespread, which could also be influenced by a smaller number of doping tests. In order to improve the problem of doping, it would be necessary to carry out regular doping controls, both outside competitions and at the competitions, regardless of the importance of the race itself and to place greater emphasis on the importance of educating veterinarians and trainers about the treatment and nutrition of horses. It would also be necessary to establish a common governing body, that would regulate the entire anti-doping movement of horse racing.
