Abstract:Rodbina Mauerburg je na Gornjem gradu − t. i. Branek bivala med 17. in 18. stoletjem. Ljutomer z okolico so v tem času pretresali pogosti turški vpadi in vpadi krucev. Slednji so večkrat izropali in požgali trg Ljutomer in okoliške vasi. Prizanesli niso niti domačinom, saj so jih veliko pobili in mučili. Razen tega so v tem obdobju bile pogoste kuge in požari. Tomaža Ignacija naprej so novi zemljiški gospodje s svojim vplivom in oblastjo skušali krojiti delovanje trga in življenje tržanov ter ostalih podložnikov. Mauerburgom in njegovim bratom Janezom Jožefom Mauerburgom.

Title:Land property of the mauerburg family in the ormož – ljutomer area and the hills according to the land register 1688
Abstract:The Mauerburg family lived in Gornji Grad (so called Branek) in the 17th and 18th century. The time of their domination in the wider area of the Market-town Ljutomer coincides with one of the worst and darkest periods in this area. During this time, Ljutomer and its surroundings were shaken by frequent Turkish invasions and raids by the Kuruc. The latter looted and burned Ljutomer and the surrounding villages several times. Even the locals were not spared, as many of them were tortured and killed. In addition, plagues and fires were common during this period. Even the floods and droughts did not favor the people of Ljutomer and left behind a great famine. The appearance of the Mauerburgs also coincides with the mass 'anti-witch trials', which were among the most numerous in Styria in this area. Numerous problems and difficult living conditions for the people of Ljutomer were further worsened by all generations of the Mauerburg family with their arrogance and malice, who completely subjugated the wider area of Ljutomer together with the Market-town until the beginning of the 18th century. Ever since the appearance of the first Mauerburg baron dr. Tomaž Ignacij, the new landlords, with their influence and power, tried to shape the functioning of the market-town and the lives of the inhabitants and other subjects. Because of this, there were many disputes and lawsuits on the route between Branek and Ljutomer Market-town, which were largely won by the Lordship owners. It was during this turbulent period that the Register of Land and the Hills in the Ormož - Ljutomer Hills was created, which is the basis of this master 's thesis. The land register was founded in 1688 as a result of the division of the inheritance between Tomaž Ignacij Jr. Mauerburg and his brother Janez Jožef Mauerburg. It covers the implementation of the agreement reached between the brothers from the previous two years and gives precise data on the amount of money and land that the new lord of Branek, Tomaž Ignacij Jr., had to leave to Janez Jožef. Precise data was also given on the total estimated value of Janez Jožef's property and which places and hills have not been part of the Branek estate since then.
